Patrick, The MF site forum has a stupid thread about who MF 'passed the torch to'. How stupid! However, I have heard you with MF twice, you are absolutely amazing! I hope you are part of the tribute being scheduled for 9/20 in St. Louis - I am planning to attend. I have no doubt that you will make Angel MF quite proud of your growth and abilities. Patrick, My husband Garry and I always see you at Blues Alley in DC. We're both trumpet players and play in our own professional local big band (I think you'd remember us! I'm the lady with the cane and Garry's the one with the high chops). It's a sad day for all Maynard fans. Every trumpet player I know has been playing their MF albums today and talking with each other telling old Maynard war stories. I'm sure this is very difficult on you so please know you're in our thoughts and prayers. Deb Henson Add comment |

Hi Matey! I'm very sorry to hear of "THE BOSS" passing away matey... I'm very upset my self and I was hoping to see you and everybody in the UK man... I send my depest and warmest feelings to MAYNARD'S FAMILY and friends matey... I will miss HIM GREATLY and the band... I hope youn don't mind me asking this... Patrick, So very sad to hear of MF's passing. I'm sure you too are devastasted. I'm still headed to Vegas the weekend of 09/09/06, and am advising others who has planned to attend the show to do the same, so that we can all meet somewhere Sat. evening and get toether, however informal, to pay homage to the boss. You're welcomed if you want to show up. May God bless you and the other band members as you all go other directions with your careers. Add comment |

Hession, You won't remember me, but I had the pleasure of being in the same trumpet section with you (and Marentic) while you were at UNLV. You were incredible then and now you are just freakin amazing. I still remember you working with me on proper breathing technique for Piccolo playing then Haik kicking us out. No matter how good you were then, you were always willing to work to improve the section. There is another memory I had that I am going to share... it was the time when you got hurt from your job (next to Guys Pies) across the street from the music building and a fellow trumpeter, Paul Pugh, was making fun of you as you were walking by us singing the Rocky theme as he was grabbing his stomach and hunching over. And then he said jokingly… "and he wants to play with Maynard." I guess it’s even funnier now. I wish you continued success, with your music. You have certainly earned it! There is one thing I would like to hear you play again and post it to your site… On a percussionist recital, you performed the piece "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning" with Tony LaBounty. I was in the audience when you guys played that, I remembered being in awe! Winston Add comment |
